Captain Jim Clark was born and raised in Ohio. He graduated from the Ohio State University and started out pursuing a career in a suit and tie. It was not his dream job. He moved to Hilton Head Island South Carolina in the 90’s. Before too long he found his love for the ocean. He ripped off his tie and began a career on the water. He started out on sail boat charters. He has raced several sail boats and sailed waters throughout the us and other countries. In the late 90’s he started learning more about his charter fishing career.
Captain Jim received his captains license in 1997. In 2002 he started Stray Cat Charters. His dream of running a business on the water was now a reality. He has many years of knowledge and experience in our local waters and offshore. He works very hard to make his customers happy. The majority of his business is repeat customers who keep coming back for more. But he loves to put new customers on fish too. If you have never been on a charter with Jim, it is time to book your trip so you can be a repeat customer too.
We had an amazing day on the water today with the crew of Stray Cat Charters. Our family brought in over fifty fish today on a full day ocean charter. Such a great time, could not have asked for a better experience!!!
Not only is he going to work hard to put you on fish, he will entertain you and make sure you have a good time. He enjoys making people laugh, teaching people about fishing, and enjoying life. Jim has lots of great fishing stories to tell. One good story is about the fishing hook on a chain around his neck. Most people look at it & think it is cliche, however it is very sentimental and there is a very touching fishing story behind it. Ask Jim about it when you see him, you won’t be disappointed with this special story.
Captain Jim has been featured in several magazines for his fishing expertise. He was on Aaron’s outdoor TV show on the Fox Network and he has been an instructor for George Poveromo’s National Saltwater Sportsman Series since 2007. He was also on ESPN with George. To read the story click HERE
